Technicalities of #thedress

True that.

I am still having post holiday blues i think. Thinking that its my last long holiday for the year is making me feel super whooper upset. My leave are all gone. N i hate not being able to travel.

So with post holiday blues and stagnant work, it seems hard to relate to the above quote. How i wish i can find what i love once again...

Must be some phase going on here..

Am gg crazy when buying lace dresses. Love them ttm with a passion!

And i cant really telll the difference between the 37$ and 70$ one.. anybody? But i love them all the same. Carting it now.

Ok..only the ribbon seems different. Dont know what else.

Went to aussie and found this label which i really love! All lace dresses. Felt like a kid in the candy store. Its just a take-all-my-money-now kind of shop. There are 3 such stores in aussie that has such an effect on me. So heres #1

The material is really amazing! Everything is sewed on so well, u know it wont drop after a few washes and the structure will stay intact.

Oh wells, no places to wear them to though, other than holidays, which i have none for the year. Fml.

Looking forward to my pretty lace dress of course. #thedress My love for such colour tone seems really evident! Right from the start i know it MUST not be a white dress but a beige one.....with white lace. Hence, one of the main reason for customizing one. 

My choice came about when i had enough of seeing white dresses..with all the lighting adjustments, instagram filters, it looks like a white blurred dress with the design being blurred out. So technically, everyone is wearing the same white dress except for the shape and length. So its a no go for me.

But yes, it will be different if u see it from an arms length, but most photos u take wont be closeup shots right....so point proven.

photography and cinematography

plans for #cynjonbigday is on its way.  like they all say, slow and steady wins the race but somehow the big day seems quite far away but there's just no time.

doing all the research on who should we get to have our photography and cinematography for the actual is quite fun but also not easy.  looking through their works and wondering what both of us like and if they can capture the elements of the wedding.  it doesn't really help since both of us are detailed on what to capture. hmm.

looking at some many videos somehow or another it all seems the same.  maybe we should just get a photographer and videographer that we really like and share with them what are the things we are looking for.

soon more meet ups would be on the way.  its kinda exciting that all these is happening and all the plans that we have slowly firming up.  bits and pieces but all is falling into place.

Wedding Styling

So here are the summarized thoughts:

Vendor #1: W
They are very detailed and get what we want. Seen their past works and they are able to deliver without much guidance. I was quite in awe that they manage t ship the items across the sea for a 1900 person wedding. And we are v comfortable speaking to her. They have set quite a high benchmark for the others to beat.

Their works r way way way amazing. I know we will never have to worry a single bit about them delivering what we want. They do not ever have bad reviews. We just have to worry about producing the cash to pay it. Hahah!

Open to us sourcing our items to minimise the cost.  Very familiar with the venue. But it seems too business and formal.

Straight and honest, works well with a budget. Imports flowers and have a good taste in floral. Not all will be baby breaths and roses. Came up with alternative backdrop!

Friendly and down to earth. We sent a pretty detailed list of items we want but we have to keep repeating what is already in the list, even basic things like timing and number of guest.

Professional and prepared accordingly. They are very experienced surprisingly and with their focus on props instead of florals, its definitely different from elsewhere. But you will see them repeating props la.

Cant believe I went through 11 companies to get the quotations, alot of you must think I am mad. Hhaha! Its so hard to narrow down to 5 companies when you do not know the price range and what they can offer. So I just cast the net and send to all la.

How do people do it?

Thinking about the house renovation is getting me on my toes. I wonder how do they make the decision, of buying this particular furniture, how to match it, how to assemble it, how to move up the lift and how to make sure you dont quarrel in the midst of it all.

Lets do some calculation here:
52 weeks x 2 days = 104 days
minus 50% days which does not match = 52 days
minus 30% days taken up by work = 36.4 = 37 days

That's the number of days we have time to source for furniture, tiles and what not, and thats out of a year. I think I should start preparing now....or is it too soon? Haha!

the house!

I would like to say that the start of #cynjonbigday is the day of the proposal...

BUT..

like every typical Singaporean couple, we decided to buy a house first without a ring on my finger. (okie, at least I have a promise ring) but you girls know what I mean.

So we decided to pop by the showroom after seeing a new development near my place which led to bringing the parents down then thinking over the weekend and finally heading down on ballot day to choose our unit. And god forbid, being the first few is akin to striking lottery to many. I remember everyone jumping with joy when its their turn, jumping for joy to spend the millions away, thats what I was thinking.

Anyhow, when it was our turn, our ideal unit is still available and after much discussion, we decided to choose a higher unit with our ideal house type. Although it is rather small, it should be big enough for me, him and our future pet. Still cant believe we made such a big purchase together.

And I do sometimes regret not getting a 5room, because Ive seen so many great designs after their renovation and the space for a WIW is definitely tempting, but oh well, it is an investment which we should start somewhere in life.

So lo and behold, on 7 December 2012 we bought our very first house together. woohoo! words cant explain how happy we were!

And the waiting game begins.
